Islamic principles

The study of Islamic principles addresses questions and issues related to the discourses of Islamic tradition by placing them within the Quranic and prophetic paradigm.

This area covers a wide range of issues related to Usul al-Fiqh, Usul al-Din and Fiqh, and focuses on those components that are relevant to the thought and practice of the Ummah. This has been done primarily with and through traditional Islamic scholarship and the valuable contribution of the Academy to Islamic and religious studies.

The Ummatics Institute is committed to the Islamic doctrinal tradition based on the Quran and the Prophetic model. As such, its focus is on the study and discussion of Islamic principles. These Sharia principles frame and guide the social and political aspirations and actions of the Ummah.

While some of these principles are clear, fundamental matters of consensus, many others are subject to differences and scholarly reflection, debate, and discussion. It is the latter that we seek to facilitate and advance.
